SUNY employs a Regional Counsel whose
responsibility is to furnish legal advice to the President and other senior
administrators and to be present to represent the University when its
legal interests are involved. Access to the University attorney is to
be handled according to the following policy.
POLICY
The President has authorized the following
Binghamton University administrators to have direct access to the University
attorney: the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Vice
President for Administration, the Vice President for External Affairs,
and the Vice President for Student Affairs. These officers are also permitted
to delegate to persons in their areas. In addition, the following officers
(in bold) are hereby authorized to contact the University's attorney:

Office of the Provost and Vice President
for Academic Affairs:
- Dean, Decker School of Nursing
- Dean, Harpur College of Arts
& Sciences
- Dean, College of Community and Public Affairs
- Dean, School of Education
- Dean, School of Management
- Dean, Watson School of Engineering
& Applied Science
- Registrar
Office of the Vice President for Student
Affairs:
- Associate Vice President and Dean of Students
- Interim Assistant Vice President for Student Life
- Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs Administration
Office of the Vice President for Administration:
- Assistant Vice President
for Administrative Division Affairs
- University Police Chief
- Director of Human Resources
Office of the Vice President for External
Affairs:
- Associate Vice President
for University Communications & Marketing
An individual not listed here who wishes
to contact the University attorney must first gain approval from the Vice
President of his or her division.
