                                 COURSE SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

1.  Departments and schools must schedule their courses using the standard meeting times listed below. (Times listed in bold are prime times.)

    M-W-F Class Days                         T-R Class Days

 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.                     8:30 a.m. - 9:55 a.m.

9:40 a.m. - 10:40 a.m.                   10:05 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

10:50 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.                 11:40 a.m. - 1:05 p.m.

12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.                     1:15 p.m. - 2:40 p.m.

 1:10 p.m. - 2:10 p.m.                   2:50 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

 2:20 p.m. - 3:20 p.m.                     4:25 p.m. - 5:50 p.m.

 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

 4:40 p.m. - 5:40 p.m.

 
Evenings: The start times for evening courses are:

MWF - 5:50 p.m. and TR - 6:00 p.m.

2. Departments and schools scheduling classes in general purpose classrooms must have: - No more than 50% of their sections offered during the Tuesday/Thursday meeting times.

- No more that 50% of their sections offered during the prime times of the day,
9:40 a.m. - 2:10 p.m. on Monday/Wednesday/Friday and 10:05 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday/Thursday (in bold above).

3. The standard meeting patterns shown above must be honored for daytime courses unless a special situation exists that would justify scheduling a non-standard meeting time. Exceptions will be granted only by a decision of the University Registrar upon recommendation from the Dean.

4. Specially-requested classroom assignments, made in advance of regular classroom scheduling, will remain provided the course enrollment makes optimum use of the seating capacity in the assigned classroom.

5. Courses offered for three hours during the day will be scheduled in the UDC if there is space available after CCPA courses are scheduled. Standard 3-hour class times for the UDC are:

8:30 - 11:30 a.m.
1:40 - 4:40 p.m.
5:50 - 8:50 p.m.

Notes:
(1) Courses
with a meeting time of 'TBA' will, by necessity, be given a low priority for classroom scheduling.
2) Courses which run for less than the full semester will be given a low priority for classroom scheduling.
3) Courses with non-standard meeting times will be given a low priority for classroom scheduling.
