The State Attendance
Rules and the various negotiated Agreements provide for a lump sum liquidation
of vacation and certain other leave credits whenever an employee is separated
from State service. All separations
are effective at the close of business on the last day the employee actually
renders services. Leave credits
payments are made by a separate check, for which payroll documents are
submitted two payroll periods after the date of separation (Department
of Audit and Control regulation).
The leave credit payment is received on the third payday after
the effective date of the separation.
